Emergency – Adult Victoria Hospital 

The Emergency Department at Victoria Hospital is the lead Trauma Centre for the region and also specializes in Acute Mental Health Services, and Oncology Services, as well as Critical Care, Medicine, Cardiology and General Surgery Services. Annually this site cares for approximately 60,000 patients.

Regular Full Time  & Part-Time

Rate of Pay: $39.07 per hour - $56.00 per hour

Qualifications

 Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of OntarioCurrent BLS for Healthcare Providers course: BLS-HCP(C)Recent cardiac monitoring experiencePreference to candidates with CTAS certification, ENC (C), ACLS, TNCC, organizational supported aggressive behavior management training, and PALS certificationDemonstrated knowledge of Cerner or an electronic health record preferredWell developed patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation skillsDemonstrated warmth, interest and empathy in interactions with patients and familiesDemonstrated effective communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to function productively in a very demanding environment with a high patient turnoverDemonstrated ability to give and receive feedback in an open and constructive mannerDemonstrated skills in patient teachingEvidence of commitment to self-directed learning as demonstrated by the courses taken pertaining to emergency nursingAbility to work independently and as a member of the teamDemonstrated computer proficiency with Automated Clinical Systems
