Lawson Health Research Institute (Lawson) is the research institute of London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care London. As one of Canada’s top ten research institutes, we are committed to furthering scientific knowledge to advance health care around the world.

The Research Lab Technician 1 will support a research team to conduct laboratory-based research studies under the direction of the Principal Investigator. Responsibilities will include the culture of pluripotent stem cells, compiling data and genomic data analysis, performing standard molecular and cellular biology techniques. Other duties will include maintaining research records, product orders, equipment maintenance, assisting with literature searches and writing documents.

Rate of Pay:                    Commensurate with experience

Hours of Work:               37.5 hours per week

Duration:                         6 months, renewable

Qualifications

 
  • BSc degree in the sciences required.
  • Experience in pluripotent stem cell culture protocols preferred
  • Proficiency in R programming, Adobe Photoshop, GraphPad Prism, RNA sequencing analysis, RNA and protein techniques,
  • Ability to work as part of a team, excellent writing and organizational skills, ability to multitask.  
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research ethics, research documentation using Benchling, and of lab safety protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
