Salary Range: $40.36 - $56.30 /hour
A challenging and exciting opportunity exists to work in a collaborative inter-professional environment delivering physiotherapy services to rehabilitation patients in a specialized rehabilitation setting.
This is an ideal opportunity for an individual who wants to be on a team of rehabilitation practitioners who are considered leaders in the delivery of rehabilitation care and to actively participate in improving the outcomes of the patients we serve and to the health care system as a whole.
Using the principles of patient centered care, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing physiotherapy services primarily to patients with stroke and/or other neurological conditions. The current assignment for this position is the Inpatient Stroke and Neurological Program. As the physiotherapist, you will be responsible for the assessment, treatment planning, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the patients assigned to your care. A focus on facilitating motor recovery and functional ambulation and mobility as well attaining improved balance that relate to fostering independence and a return to activities that are important to the patient are also key elements of the role.
Essential Qualifications
- Valid registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- Minimum 2 years related experience as a Physiotherapist
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Clinical expertise and experience in stroke rehabilitation and demonstrated knowledge of current stroke rehabilitation best practices
- Experience and demonstrated competency in establishing rehabilitation goals and in the implementation of strategies and protocols for goal attainment
- Demonstrated experience using a patient centered approach
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team setting as well as with case managers, insurance companies and attorneys
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven flexibility and a high level of initiative
- Familiarity with outcome measurement related to clinical practice
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate evidence-based research into practice
- Proficiency in French would be an asset
- Membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and relevant interest groups
- Completion of the Introductory Bobath or NDT courses
- Demonstrates initiatives with program development/improvement
- Working knowledge and experience with theories and principles of guiding adult learning and patient self-management approaches
- ADP authorizer
- Knowledge of computer systems and virtual care platforms (e.g. workload measurement, Cerner, Outlook, Microsoft Office, MS Teams, WebEx)

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
