Objective and Purpose

The Senior Manager, People & Culture – Ontario and Corporate plays a pivotal role in advancing Organigram’s People and Culture strategy across Ontario-based operations and corporate functions. This role oversees People and Culture activities for facilities in both London and Aylmer, Ontario and supports corporate teams across the organization.

Reporting to the Senior Director, People & Culture Business Partnership, this leader is responsible for designing and implementing strategic People and Culture programs that enhance the employee experience, drive engagement, and support business objectives. The role also collaborates closely with the Communities of Expertise (COEs) and the Senior Director People and Culture Business Partnership on key initiatives such as talent management, succession planning, and workforce planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to facility and corporate leaders, providing expert guidance on organizational and people-related matters.
  • Lead annual People and Culture processes including performance management, succession planning, and merit reviews, ensuring high-potential talent is identified and developed.
  • Support strategic workforce planning aligned with organizational goals and operational needs.
  • Oversee and update People and Culture policies specific to Ontario, including compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  • Partner with People and Culture leadership to design and implement innovative solutions in areas such as talent acquisition, compensation, career development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization to proactively identify challenges and deliver effective, practical solutions.
  • Coach senior leaders on performance improvement and career development strategies.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee and labour relations issues, including conducting thorough and objective investigations.
  • Lead and develop a team of three People and Culture professionals, fostering growth and building collective capability.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on employment law, best practices, and employee relations within the Ontario context.
  • Support People and Culture related integration activities for corporate teams during mergers and acquisitions.

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a Manager or Senior Manager role.
  • Proven experience supporting senior leadership (Vice President level or above).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all HR functional areas and Ontario employment legislation.
  • Experience in consumer-packaged goods (CPG) or manufacturing environments is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.  CPHR designation is an asset.

  • Practical and results-oriented approach to People and Culture, with a track record of delivering in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate business needs into actionable HR strategies.
