Salary Range: $30.49 - $31.17 /hour


It is understood that the hours of work reflect the current scheduling arrangements and are subject to change as determined by the Employer. Hours of work are anticipated to include days, evenings and weekends.

A challenging and exciting opportunity exists to work in a collaborative interprofessional environment delivering rehabilitation to patients in a specialized rehabilitation setting under the supervision of regulated health practitioners.

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual who wants to be on a team of rehabilitation practitioners who are considered leaders in the delivery of rehabilitation care and to actively participate in improving the outcomes of the patients we serve and to the health care system as a whole. The successful candidate would be required to work across multiple programs and includes stroke, acquired brain injury or spinal cord injury.

Essential Qualifications

  • Current Physiotherapy Assistant and Occupational Therapy Assistant diploma or dual OTA/PTA diploma from a recognized program that includes a placement component in each discipline
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation with an understanding of its consequences
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, physical and cognitive disabilities and their potential impact on task performance
  • Experience with the implementation of occupational therapy and physiotherapy programs such as functional mobility retraining, assisting with implementing passive and active range of motion programs, other exercise programs for neurologically impaired patients, assisting with the fabrication of assistive devices, implementing and monitoring an ADL program, positioning aids, wheelchair and seating components as well as orthotics
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, family, volunteers and other members of the care team
  • Able to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position (e.g. lifts and transfers, ADL tasks for showering and bathing, able to assist therapist in physical treatment techniques)
  • Able to utilize computer systems (e.g. Workload measurement, Outlook, Word)
  • Keen observation skills
  • Able to work independently and be self directed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • Clinical experience and knowledge of the treatment of adult patients in a rehabilitation setting

Immunization Requirements
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
