The Building Equipment Operator (BEO) reports to the Facilities Engineering Manager. In this role you will work with the Facilities Management Team to operate, inspect, repair and maintain the building equipment as it relates to Life Safety, Mechanical, Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC and all other associated building systems.
Essential Qualifications
- Secondary (High) School Diploma
- Any of the following Certificates of Qualification:
- Current Certificate of Qualification as a 313A Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic for the Province of Ontario, OR
- Current Certificate of Qualification as a Facility System Technician 255B or equivalent for the Province of Ontario OR
- Current Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic Millwright #433A for the Province of Ontario, OR
- Current Certificate of Qualification as a Construction Millwright #426A for the Province of Ontario, OR
- Current Certificate of Qualification as a Third- or Fourth-Class Operating Engineer for the Province of Ontario
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Minimum three (3) years demonstrated related experience with building systems including mechanical, electrical, and building automation
- Demonstrated experience in a customer-oriented environment
- Demonstrated effective organizational skills
- Demonstrated effective collaborative, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently
- Must be capable of meeting the physical demands required to perform the essential duties of the classification
- Previous related work experience within a healthcare environment
- HVAC Certificate (e.g. SMT,BES) in conjunction with the above listed C of Q's
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Proficiency in French would be an asset

- Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
