Salary Range: $42.66 - $60.88 /hour

This program provides $25,000 in grant funding to eligible RPNs/RNs/ Nurse Practitioners in exchange for a two-year full-time commitment. The Nurse Educator is responsible for the coordination of orientation and ongoing education for the Perioperative team. In partnership with other Nurse Educators, you will also support the ongoing orientation and education plans of regulated and non-regulated staff supporting the development and maintenance of skills for members of the Perioperative Team. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team and other clinical educator resources to design educational initiatives and programs to build professional, evidence -based practice and improve patient outcomes. As a member of the Perioperative Team, you will act as a creative & supportive change agent in collaboration with leaders and teams.
Essential Qualifications
- Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Five years recent surgical/PACU experience
- ACLS certification (delivered by Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada)
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Demonstrated excellence in providing effective outcome oriented performance coaching to individuals and groups following the principles of adult learning
- Demonstrated excellence in assessing learning needs and in the design and delivery of learning strategies
- Demonstrates expert critical thinking and problem solving
- Strong organizational, consultation and negotiation skills
- Evidence of continuous learning and use of literature in nursing practice
- Excellence in managing multiple projects
- Proven leadership abilities, initiative and self-directedness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to use PowerChart and HBO system
- Demonstrated computer skills including advanced level Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
- Certificate or Diploma in Adult Learning from an Accredited Educational Institution
- Previous Critical Care experience
- Recent experience in adult education

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
