REGULAR FULL-TIME NURSE PRACTITIONER

Location: Four Counties Health Services

Reporting to the VP Clinical Services/CNO, the Nurse Practitioner role has primary responsibilities which include:
 
  • Provision of care to hospital inpatients in an advanced practice role which includes clinical decisions and provision of care in collaboration with the MRP.
  • Partner with the hospital to develop and provide collaborative ambulatory programs (e.g. Surgical Care and Endoscopy Clinic). 
  • Support the growth and expansion of new clinical programs within an advance practice role to facilitate the needs of the surrounding communities.

Job Qualifications
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, RN Extended Class, including liability insurance
  • Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner certification.
  • 5 years relevant nursing experience, preferably within an acute care hospital
  • Professional memberships (RNAO, CNA), preferred
  • BCLS, required
  • ACLS, preferred
  • PALS, TNCC preferred
  • Professional competency incorporating current and relevant knowledge and research findings into clinical practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team
  • Strong and demonstrated organizational skills, excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
  • Demonstrated leadership as a change agent and supports advancement of nursing practice within the organization.
  • Mentoring and educating of professional staff and students
  • Computer skills in a Windows environment
  • Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella and varicella (chicken pox) and documented proof of 2 Covid-19 Vaccinations
  • Must provide documentation Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 12 months
