Salary Range: $34.83 - $39.50 /hour
Temporary employment anticipated to extend until January 23, 2026, subject to the availability of work.
An exciting opportunity exists to work in a collaborative inter-professional environment delivering an innovative rehabilitation service designed to help stroke survivors and their caregivers reach their optimal level of recovery in their own community. This unique service is delivered by three specialized Community Stroke Rehabilitation Teams affiliated with the District Stroke Centers of London, Owen Sound and Stratford. This particular position is for the London team that is based out of Parkwood Institute and covers London Middlesex, Oxford, and Elgin counties.
This is an ideal opportunity for an individual who enjoys being on the leading edge of innovation and creativity to actively participate in improving the Stroke Rehabilitation service delivery system.
Using the principles of person-centered care the successful applicant will be responsible for implementing goal focused interventions in the home and various community settings under the direction of and in collaboration of allied team members. Specific areas of the program focus include: cognitive and communication strategies training, independent living skills, physical functioning and facilitating community integration. The successful candidate will also provide client-specific consultation and education/training related to stroke rehabilitation for service providers, caregivers and families. The successful candidate will also be involved in the facilitation of ongoing virtual and in-person group classes including Aphasia Groups throughout the Thames Valley area.
Essential Qualifications
- College diploma in Social Services (minimum of 2 years)
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Knowledge and experience in the principles and practice of Applied Behavior Analysis
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to travel within the catchment area
- Proficiency in French would be an asset
- Experience with and understanding of the many consequences of stroke and brain injury
- Experience in direct client service both in-patient and in the community

As an employee of St. Joseph's you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
- Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
