REGULAR PART-TIME MEDICAL LABORATORY ASSISTANT
Laboratory
Job Duties:
Position available immediately
Available for all shifts (7.5h) including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
To provide assistance to the technologist with the performance of phlebotomy, clerical functions, and preparation of samples for analysis
Job Qualifications
Graduate from an approved Medical Laboratory Assistant Program
MLPAO or CSMLS certification required
Member of
CMLTO Voluntary Roster of Registered Medical Laboratory Technicians
preferred
Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office
Phlebotomy experience
Ability to assess concurrent demands, set priorities, organize work and maintain accuracy in a busy environment.
Excellent communication skills (particularly oral/telephone) and critical thinking skills
Strong team player with the ability to perform duties independently and professionally
Evidence of ongoing professional development and self-directed learning
Demonstrated excellence in attendance
Understanding and demonstrated use of good body mechanics
Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 12 months and documented proof of 2 Covid 19 vaccinations
