UH Operating Room
Reporting to the Coordinators, UH Operating Room, the Ambulatory Clerk contributes to the organizational day to day support in an outpatient department by acting as the main communication link, supporting reception & patient registration, scheduling and booking of patient appointments, diagnostic testing, lab and patient care orderables, as well as supporting the interdisciplinary clinical team.
Regular Part-Time
Rate of Pay: $27.54 per hour - $34.42 per hour
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a health care office assistant certificate, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by the Hospital
- Successful completion of a Health Care Office Assistant Certificate
- Previous experience with patient registration and scheduling preferred
- Proficiency in computer and keyboarding skills, i.e., Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Electronic Patient Record, Workload Measurement
- Demonstrated proficient communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Effective organizational skills involving time management, prioritization and the ability to problem solve while ensuring attention to detail
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC?s Vision, purpose, and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:
Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
- Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health?s current definition of being fully vaccinated
