REGULAR FULL-TIME HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL
Health Records Department
Position Objective:
Reporting to the Manager of Health Information Services & Finance, the Health Information Professional will be responsible for coding and abstracting inpatient, day surgery and emergency records using ICD-10-CA and CCI into 3M information system. The individual is responsible for adhering to coding standards and guidelines set out by CIHI, Ministry of Health and the hospital.

Job Qualifications:
- Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella and varicella (chicken pox) and proof of 2 COVID-19 Vaccinations
- Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 12 months
- Graduate from a recognized Health Information Management program
- Certified member in good standing with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM) and maintained on an annual basis
- 2-3 years of recent DAD and NACRS coding experience
- Working knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Coding Standards and ICD-10-CA/CCI
- Experience with 3M abstracting software is an asset
- Experience with Cerner and online documentation is an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
- Demonstrated attention to detail with high level of accuracy and data quality
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Adhere to and prioritize monthly and quarterly deadlines
- Demonstrate initiative and to use good judgement either working independently or in a group as a team member
- Other office duties as required
- Demonstrated excellence in attendance
